OPEN AUDITIONS
SUNDAY, MAY 1
FOR POPULAR CHILDREN’S THEATRE SERIES
- YOUTHS AND ADULT ROLES AVAILABLE -
BEACH HAVEN, NJ – Surflight Theatre, under the leadership of producer Roy Miller, will hold open auditions on Sunday, May 1, 2011, for kids and adults needed to play various woodland creatures, members of royalty and other assorted fairy tale characters for Surflight Theatre’s popular series of children’s shows beginning May 28 and running through September 4.
All your favorite fairy tales will be on stage this summer at Surflight Theatre! The Children’s Theatre series will include: Snow White, Cinderella, Peter Pan and Captain Hook, Winnie the Pooh, and Disney’s Aladdin Jr.
Sunday, May 1 schedule: Registration for ages 7-15 from 12:00pm – 12:30pm, with auditions from 12:30pm – 3:00pm. Registration for ages 16 and up are 2:30pm – 3:00pm, with auditions from 3:00pm – 4:30pm.
Please prepare to sing one 32-bar selection of an up-tempo musical theatre song. You must bring sheet music in the appropriate key or an accompaniment CD. An accompanist will be provided. The audition will also include a reading of a children’s theatre monologue, to be distributed at registration. All applicants are asked to bring a current photo.
