Adopt An Intern


Looking for a way to be more involved at the theatre? Consider Adopting an Intern.

The Adopt An Intern Program began in 2004 to raise funds to support our longstanding and
well-respected intern program and to provide a support network for interns working at Surflight,
a home away from home. Each year Surflight hires approximately 22 college-age students who
are paired with adoptive parents. Parents provide emotional support, the occasional home-cooked
meal, transportation to the mainland, and sometimes even accommodations for visiting families.

In return for adoption, parents receive:

Invitation to attend the season’s Welcome Barbeque
Invitations to Intern-Only Events:
Show Place Ice Cream Social, Pot Luck Dinners, Intern Cabaret, and Intern Brunch
Complimentary 2009 Souvenir Book
Back Stage Tour Pass
Passes to attend Dress Rehearsals
Pre-seating privileges for Children’s Theatre performances

To complete the Adopt An Intern process, the adoption contribution rates
are $200 for single parents or $250 for families.
